(8-5) STEPHEN LONGFELLOW II born 02/10/1723 Married Tabitha Bragdon, the daughter of Samuel and Tabitha Bragdon in York Maine on 10/19/1749 Tabitha was born 12/01/1723 in York Me. Stephen graduated from Harvard College in 1742 and he became A School Teacher in Falmouth Me. (now Portland) He moved to Gorham when Portland was destroyed by Mowatt in 1775. After the Revolutionary War, he never resumed Public Office. One histrorian suggested that this might have been because either he was distrusted as A Loyalist or because of his weight of 24 He was also Town Clerk, Portland for 22 years, Clerk of the First Parish Church for 23 years, Clerk of the proprietors of Common Lands for many years, and the first Clerk of the Judicial Courts and Register of Probate for Cum Co.

(9-1) STEPHEN LONGFELLOW III born 08/03/1750, Married Patience Young on 12/13/1773. She was born in York Me. the daughter of Job and Patience Young on 12/05/1745. Stephen III was a surveyor and held various Town Offices. He was A Senator from Cumberland County representing Gorham in the General Court of Massachusetts; and A Judge in the Court of Common Pleas.

(10-2) STEPHEN LONGFELLOW IV born 03/23/1776 Married Zilpha Wadsworth the daughter of General Peleg and Elizabeth Wadsworth on 01/01/1804. Stephen IV graduated from Harvard College in 1798 and was called one of Maines Great Lawyers. Elizabeth's Mother Elizabeth Bartlett descended from Richard and Henry Samson and the blood of nine persons who came over on the Mayflower. General Wadsworth earlier in his life made A serious charge against Paul Revere, the famous Boston Patriot who was involved in A well known naval engagement against the british in 1779. General Wadsworth accused Paul Revere of disobeying A direct order by Stephen !V was one of the Presidential Electors in 1816 in the district of Maine, when each cast their vote for Rufus King.
